Dietmar Dath, born in 1970, writer, publicist, translator. From 1998 to 2000 editor-in-chief of the pop magazine “Spex,” since 2000, with a brief interruption, features editor at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung FAZ. Numerous SF novels (“Die Abschaffung der Arten”, 2008, “Gentzen oder Betrunken aufr√§umen”, 2021), an SF opera libretto (“Einbruch mehrerer Dunkelheiten”, music by Felix Leuschner, world premiere 2022 at the Staatstheater Kassel), non-fiction (“Niegeschichte. Science Fiction als Kunst- und Denkmaschine”, 2019). Winner of several awards both as a storyteller (Kurd La√üwitz Prize for the novels “Die Abschaffung der Arten” – 2009 – and “Pulsarnacht” – 2013) and as a critic (Siegfried-Kracauer-Prize 2020 for the film review of “Terminator: Dark Fate”).
