New version, June 2025
Julia is a blogger, writer, and voracious reader. And she just updated her interview to reintroduce herself:
Tell us about yourself!
My name is Julia, I live in Giessen and I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. I’ve been running a book blog for many years and have also been writing books myself for some time now. I love music and have been playing the harp for a few years.
Which genre is your home?
I like many genres, as long as it’s not too bloody and brutal. When it comes to fantasy, I’m always particularly happy about Funtasy.
What is your role at MetropolCon – and why are you taking part?
I stumbled across MetropolCon on Twitch and just love the concept. At the last con, I was often found in the GreenRoom, and this time my focus is on volunteer support.
It’s Saturday night at a con – where can you be found?
Somewhere with food, drink, and a comfy chair.
What has been your most magical con moment so far and what do you particularly look forward to at cons?
I like the special atmosphere at cons, strangers become friends, everyone is in a good mood, it’s always magical somehow.
Best fictional sidekick of all time?
Wilma, a little Kiwi in Thomas Thiemeyer’s Chroniken der Weltensucher
If you had a superpower – which one would help you at the con?
Teleportation, coffee summoning, time dilation, mental de-scattering … Beaming is also always good for getting from one place to another quickly.
Your ultimate survival tip for MetropolCon?
”Comfortable shoes”, “Eat occasionally”, “Never lose your badge (or your sword)”. Just like at all other events: Don’t forget to eat and drink!
You win a week in a fictional world of your choice – where are you going?
Honestly? I’m too chicken for that. There are just far too many dangers in most worlds for me!
A fantastic work that you would recommend to us all?
The steampunk radio play series Wayne McLair by Paul Burghardt
What is your wish for the future of fantasy – especially in Germany?
Lots of exciting stories and the courage to try something new!
