old-fashioned laptop which is used for producing a con newspaper in real time

ConFact is a con newspaper assembled by participants for participants

In ConFact, you can write about what you liked or didn’t like about the con, or anything else you want to say. The collected feedback from con-goers provides a good idea of what the convention was like and is interesting to read.

The laptop works like a typewriter: just type, and when it you hear the bell ring, there are two characters left, then you proceed to the next line. As soon as two pages are full, the next issue is printed. This way, people can read other people’s impressions “hot off the press.”
