🇦🇹 Cultural Studies Scholar, Journalist
Julia Grillmayr (*1987) is cultural studies scholar, science fiction researcher and journalist. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Vienna and works and teaches at art universities in Linz, Salzburg and Wien. Her research often involves some of the many Cyber-(and other)-punks or eco-(and other)-feminisms as well as the various Anthropocenes. The rest of her time she spends in muddy Danubian wetlands and in tap shoes.
At MetropolCon, Julia is part of the panels “Ghost in the Shell: Gender, Race, (Post-)Humanism” (Friday, 3:30 to 5:00 pm, in Atelier 2 – in English) and “Schrott Fiction” (Thursday, 6:30 to 7:30 pm, in Atelier 2 – in German & English).
