Please introduce yourself briefly
I was born in Berlin a few months before the Stardust reached the moon, and apart from a few interruptions, I still live here. I was introduced to science fiction in radio plays, films and books (in that order) at an early age and have been hooked on almost all topics ever since.
Why are you part of the MetropolCon team?
I found the first MetropolCon absolutely inspiring. My professional activity in the publishing industry is directly related to the first edition. I would like to further deepen the contacts I have made at work in the context of the convention. And I like being part of something big.
It’s Saturday night at a con: where can people find you?
Is it late? Then probably in bed, so that I can devote myself to the rest of the convention programme on Sunday after a good night’s sleep.
What do you wish for the future of the speculative genres, particularly in Germany?
More science fiction on the shelves of bookshops again. And more inspiring events like MetropolCon.
Best fictional sidekick of all time?
Amy, Rory and River as the best companions of the best Doctor. And, of course, Samwise Gamgee, the most loyal friend imaginable.
You win a weeklong trip to a fantasy/SF world of your choice: Where do you go?
To the Perry Rhodan universe. Travelling in incredibly fast spaceships, I can visit many different places in a week.
One work of speculative fiction (book/film/series/game …) that you would recommend to all of us?
I recently recommended ‚Hello Summer, Goodbye’ by Michael G. Coney to a bookseller friend of mine. ‚Seacrow Island‘ meets planetary catastrophe, garnished with a really beautiful little love story. A wonderful coming-of-age novel.
