Gabriele und Arno Behrend

30. May 202630. May 2026 Grit RichterGuest

The couple, both active in the literary world, will bring along a number of their works.

Gabriele began her career as an illustrator at NOVA magazine, where she now works again as a graphic editor. As an author, she won the Kurd Laßwitz Award for the story “Suicide Rooms” and the German Science Fiction Prize for “Davy ’n’ Jean.” Her novels include Salzgras und Lavendel, a speculative work about artificially induced multiple personalities, and the time-travel novel Die Frau mit den roten Schuhen (i.e., “The Woman in the Red Shoes”). Gabriele Behrend is particularly appreciated for her writing style and the emotional depth of her characters.

Arno used to be very active in several clubs, editorial teams, and convention committees, but has always simultaneously published stories in a wide variety of magazines. He received the German Science Fiction Prize for “Small Talk.” His stories with a crime fiction/whodunnit flair, were published in the collection Schuldig in 16 Fällen (i.e., “Guilty in 16 Cases”). He is currently handling the marketing for the novel Pandora’s Fleet by Christian Märtesheimer, for which he also conducted the preliminary research.
