The magazine phantastisch! is a renowned German print magazine dedicated to speculative literature. Launched in January 2001, this quarterly publication offers in-depth and diverse coverage of the science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres.

In addition to exclusive short stories by established and emerging authors, the magazine provides in-depth insights through interviews, feature articles, reviews of new releases, and backstage reports on comics and films. For its consistent and high-quality work, phantastisch! has received numerous awards, including induction into the European “Hall of Fame” in 2024 as Best Magazine (ESFS Award) and, in 2026, two Kurd Laßwitz Awards, one for best cover (Issue 98) and one special award for long-standing outstanding achievements presented to Editor-in-Chief Klaus Bollhöfener and his team.

After stints with Achim Havemann Verlag and Atlantis Verlag, the long-established magazine is now being published by Frankfurt-based Calliope Media GmbH, which is successfully leading the publication into the future with the anniversary issue #100.
