Future Fiction is a small press and cultural association created by Francesco Verso to promote an interdisciplinary approach to the idea of the future: in 12 years it has published the best Science Fiction in the World from 14 languages and 40 countries, with authors like Ian McDonald, Liu Cixin, Vandana Singh, Chen Qiufan and Ken Liu, winning the Best Publisher Award by the European SF Society in 2019 and a Galaxy Award in 2023.
With the ambition to map the other “tomorrows” declined by many cultures, Future Fiction organizes workshops, conferences, and conventions in Europe, Latin America, and China on issues related to anticipation and speculation with essays, novels, short stories, and anthologies on paper, audiobooks, and comics. Over the years, the project has become an excellent content aggregator and a place of discovery for anyone who sees in the future not only upcoming dystopias and unlikely apocalypses but also an analysis and entertainment tool to find an orientation amongst the incredible transformations that are impacting humanity at all levels, from Capitalocene to biopolitics and nanotechnology, from AI, Big Data and aging population, to climate change and solarpunk.
