Timo has always been driven and defined by his enthusiasm for speculative stories and by his exuberant joy in creating. He graduated from a technical school specializing in design and completed an apprenticeship as a wood sculptor, then studied fine art painting and graphic design for two years before becoming a full-time artist and illustrator. The range of his art encompasses nearly every facet of fantasy, science fiction, and horror – and sometimes goes beyond these.
As a photographer, he is also always on the lookout for unusual subjects and treks through any terrain with his camera, venturing off the beaten path whenever possible.
In 2011 and 2015, he was awarded the Kurd Laßwitz Prize for Best Science Fiction Artwork, and in 2018 and 2024, the Vincent Prize for Best Horror Artwork. His illustrated book *VORSEHUNG* received the Temporamores Award in 2018.
His works are created without the use of AI, and he passionately advocates for the protection of human art and culture against theft and misuse by AI and Big Tech. Instead, we should stand together in solidarity, celebrate human creativity, and do everything in our power to take back this treasure, born of passion and dedication, from the clutches of the soulless digital meat grinder of the Tech Bros.
On his website, he regularly shares updates on new projects:
