Partners & Sponsors 2026

May we introduce our amazing partners and sponsors:

Phantastik Autor*innen Netzwerk e.V. (PAN)

Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction need a lobby. A special interest group that proves the importance of those genres to readers, publishers and media in the German-speaking parts of the world. A non-profit association that can be found on all important book fairs, that finances scholarships, organizes events, that sponsors awards for literature, supports writers and readings and tries out new things. People who organize meetings and regular’s tables. As well online as offline, in a lot of different areas.

A union that consists of many committed members who are always open for new ideas and can be approached anytime.

That’s our duty. We are PAN.

We create worlds.

More about PAN can be found HERE.

At MetropolCon, PAN will host one of the rooms for three days, curating an exciting program of talks and panels we look forward to!

Science Fiction Club Deutschland

The Science Fiction Club Deutschland SFCD e.V. is the oldest SF club in Germany with the most members. It was founded in 1955 by Walter Ernsting (aka Clark Darlton) and Julian Parr, along with several other well-known personalities in the SF scene of the time. With the German Science Fiction Prize, the association annually awards the only endowed literary prize of this genre. Its book rescue initiative is also a pretty unique feature.

More about Science Fiction Club Deutschland can be found HERE!

MetropolCon will be this year’s SFCD con and host its annual members’ meeting on Sunday morning. We look forward to welcoming lots of club members!

Carcosa Verlag

The people behind Carcosa firmly believe that there are many readers who are curious about sophisticated, progressive literature with speculative elements. They take these readers seriously and expend the utmost care on their books – in terms of selection, editing, and presentation. Five new books are published every six months, either as hardcover editions or attractive softcovers with flaps, depending on their content and length.

New editions of classic works of speculative literature are the foundation of their program. In addition, they dig for discoveries, whether from famous authors or rising stars.

Ahead of MetropolCon, Carcosa will publish books by Guests of Honor Aiki Mira and Becky Chambers, and a second publisher’s almanac will contain further texts by and about them.

Find their website HERE!

Moreover, they will invite Kim Stanley Robinson to join us virtually for a panel, they will celebrate Ursula K. LeGuin with us … and more!

TOR Verlag

TOR – an imprint of Fischer Verlage

Since August 2016, Fischer Tor has been publishing German-language and international science fiction, fantasy, and horror books in German translation. Their authors include Theresa Hannig, Aiki Mira, Brandon Q. Morris, Sarah Beth Durst, Paolo Bacigalupi, Jay Kristoff, Ursula K. Le Guin, Becky Chambers, V. E. Schwab, and Matt Dinniman.

The name Tor refers to our sister publishing house Tor Books in New York, a world-renowned traditional brand for science fiction and fantasy. Like its role model, Tor aims to reach a broad audience. With a thematically diverse program, it appeals not only to die-hard fans, but also to newcomers to the genre and adventurous readers of all kinds.

Find their website HERE!

At MetropolCon, TOR will present an anniversary reading event with several of their top authors – among other things!

Otherland Bookstore Berlin

For almost 30 years, the Otherland Bookstore has been a knowledgeable and enthusiastic provider of science fiction, fantasy, horror, and RPGs in German and English. As an independent bookstore, they specialize in personalized advice, ship throughout Germany, and offer surprise book packages. In addition, Otherland regularly hosts readings, book clubs, and role-playing games. In 2024, Otherland won the German Bookstore Award and in 2025 the Kurd Laßwitz Prize. The Otherland team will not only sell books at MetropolCon, you may also encounter some of them on program.

More about Otherland can be found HERE!

schreiben & leben

The schreiben&lebenPLUS project supports Berlin writers by providing advice, mentoring, information, networking and advertising. The offer is aimed at authors, translators, editors, book designers, literary organizers and other solo freelancers in the literary industry.

As part of the free consultation program, experts from the literary industry and other disciplines have been providing advice on topics relating to literary freelancing since autumn 2016 – from finding an agency and publisher, applying for a grant, KSK, VG Wort to self-publishing, crowdfunding and social media. Qualified legal advice is also available. In order to do justice to the linguistic diversity of the Berlin literary scene, consultations can be held in eight languages.

The Industry Meetup: Literature is organized annually and brings together Berlin’s literary professionals, provides them with expertise and creates new networks. As part of the Industry Meetup, they have also been organizing a Barcamp since 2023, where participants can independently discuss all burning professional issues.

More about the project can be found HERE!
