Dietmar Dath

🇩🇪 Author of Venus siegt and Neptunation

Dietmar Dath, born in 1970, writer, publicist, translator. From 1998 to 2000 editor-in-chief of the pop magazine “Spex,” since 2000, with a brief interruption, features editor at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung FAZ. Numerous SF novels (“Die Abschaffung der Arten”, 2008, “Gentzen oder Betrunken aufräumen”, 2021), an SF opera libretto (“Einbruch mehrerer Dunkelheiten”, music by Felix Leuschner, world premiere 2022 at the Staatstheater Kassel), non-fiction (“Niegeschichte. Science Fiction als Kunst- und Denkmaschine”, 2019). Winner of several awards both as a storyteller (Kurd Laßwitz Prize for the novels “Die Abschaffung der Arten” – 2009 – and “Pulsarnacht” – 2013) and as a critic (Siegfried-Kracauer-Prize 2020 for the film review of “Terminator: Dark Fate”).
